Abhinav and Yaseen had a blast on pajama day! Do you notice what is the same and what is different in these pictures?

Can you see what Cole did? Cole did some careful work on his snap words. Way to go, Cole!

Friends, I am so proud of each and every one of you. You are doing amazing work and staying positive. You have all filled my bucket today!

If you would like to be featured in our blog, send me a picture or story and I will share it with your friends!

Busy Beavers in the Neighborhood

Hi Friends,

Our friend Glendon had fun this past week exploring nature with their family! Check out these amazing pictures and the story of their adventure!

Love,

Ms. Hall

Beavers have moved into our neighborhood! They want to build a dam on the river that leads to a small pond. They will live in the dam. They use their sharp teeth to take bites out of trees. They keep biting on the trees until they have gnawed a circle around the entire tree trunk.

They gnaw deeper and deeper into the tree, until the tree falls over.
This tree is almost ready to fall over! They need to gnaw a little more, and then the trunk will snap and the tree will fall.

If you look close, you can see their teeth marks on the wood.

The trees fall into the water. The beavers can swim under the water for a long time. They hold their breath, dive deep, and use their legs and tails to push the trees into place. If the tree isn't in the right place, they push it back out, spin it around under water, and try again. They are persistent! When they have enough trees in place, they fill in the holes with smaller branches and sticks until their home is just right.

Snap Words and Word Chunks, Oh My!

Hi Friends,

Today during our morning meeting you will need your DRY-ERASE BOARD and your DRY-ERASE MARKER to help me complete the message. We are going to fill in the missing snap words and even use our snap word and sound power to make a new word. Are you excited and ready to go?

I am also putting up Kevin Henkes book, When Spring Comes, illustrated by Laura Dronzek. As you listen to the story I want you to think about the signs of spring you are starting to notice or that you remember from last year. If you want you can draw a picture and write a sentence about what you are looking forward to in the spring. Are you excited to ride your bike or garden with your family or maybe splash in puddles?

Remember, if you would like to be featured in our blog, send me a photo or video and I will put it up!

I miss your happy faces!

Love,
Ms. Hall
