Hello My Friends
I hope you are having a fantastic start to your Friday! In today's morning meeting we talk about a special tool that will go home with you on Monday. Your sentence journals!
This is what the outside looks like
(I borrowed Glendon's book, thanks Glendon!):
This is what the inside looks like:
Do you remember working with Mrs. McLane during Station Rotation? Well we will post some videos next week practicing writing in our journals using our best kindergarten spelling. Please wait to use your journal until it is time.
Handwriting Practice
Today we will use our sentence strips, dry-erase markers, erasers, and alphabet charts. We will warm up by singing the alphabet (touch each word as you say it in the song) and by doing a few rounds of alphabet aerobics. Remember to pay attention to the sun line, the airplane line, the grass line, and the worm line.
Read Aloud: The Kissing Hand
This is one of my favorite stories. I hope you enjoy listening to it.
Take a look at all the adventures your friends have been up to!
Ava and her big sister made fairy houses together.
Beautiful work, Ava and Lily!
Ava really enjoyed pajama day last week! What a cute stuffed animal!
Another beautiful rainbow, Ava found 10 other pretty rainbows while on a walk the other day.
Ruslan and his brother Sammy had a blast doing their sink and float experiment outside.
Yaseen and his family found different items in the house to use in his experiment. Check out the videos below to watch Yaseen find out whether these objects will sink or float!
First he tried the experiment with tinfoil.
Then he tried the experiment with a tissue box.
Next he used a fork in his experiment.
Last, he used a recycled Pringles cup in his experiment.
Abhinav enjoyed using his dry-erase board this week. I like how he used lowercase letters for his sentence!
Great job following directions during our word sort handwriting practice, Abhinav!
Finally, check out this beautiful solo of our Chamberlin School song by Abhinav!
